Puppy training

WHEN SHOULD PUPPY TRAINING BEGIN?

Puppy training should begin as soon as possible. A puppy's senses are fully developed around three weeks of age. This is when the critical period begins. This includes learning social skills and making a foundation for training. The critical period, the time to start puppy training, lasts roughly fifteen weeks. We begin house breaking a puppy as soon as we bring the puppy home. This is training. Waiting until the puppy is sixteen weeks and older is highly discouraged as problem behavior is more likely to develop. Not to mention learning rewards early is the key to a highly motivated dog!

Bringing a puppy into the home takes planning and preparation. Proper training is a lot of responsibility. Training can be fun, simple, and rewarding when you have the proper knowledge. If you are not 100% sure how to train the puppy, how is the puppy suppose to know?

CLASSES ARE FAMILY ORIENTED.

PRE-PUPPY SESSION   We offer a pre-puppy class which is roughly a one hour session for the new puppy owner to be. This session is without the puppy. A puppy needs to have immunization shots for protection before starting puppy classes. The puppy is ready for puppy classes roughly ten to twelve weeks of age depending on your veterinarian's suggestion.
